Peanut Butter Blossom Bars are a twist on a classic cookie with less work. No scooping or rolling required! Convenient for batch baking or any occasion.
It's peanut butter kiss cookies but EASIER. This is my favorite way to make large batches. Much faster than scooping cookies, just like my Double Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars.

Peanut butter blossom bars are soft, chewy, and so easy to customize. I like to use different types of Hershey's kisses to make them fun for different events. As long as the flavor goes with peanut butter, it works!

🛒 Key Ingredients
- Peanut Butter - I use regular creamy peanut butter, but you can also use crunchy or natural, just make sure to mix it well (so the oils aren't separated) before you measure it out.
- Hershey's Kisses - I use original kisses for most of the peanut butter bars I make, but it's fun to switch up flavors for different occasions.
- Sugar - I use a mix of both white and brown sugar to give the bars the perfect texture.

✏️ Substitutions & Variations
- Chocolate Lovers' Delight
- Add chocolate chips to the dough for an extra chocolatey journey to heaven.
- Nutty Crunch
- Add in chopped nuts like peanuts or pecans into the batter for added texture.
- Gluten-Free Option
- Substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend like Cup for Cup to accommodate dietary needs.
Pro Tip: Experiment with different types of chocolate candies (like mini peanut butter cups or Rolos) to customize the bars.
🧑🍳 Instructions
- Step 1. In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, both types of sugar, and softened salted butter. Mix with an electric mixer (either stand or handheld). Cream together for about 3 minutes on medium/high speed, until mixture is creamy and turns light in color.
- Step 2. Add in eggs, vanilla, and salt, and mix well, for about 1 minute on medium speed.
- Step 3. Add in the flour and baking soda last, mixing in slowly (so the flour doesn't fly everywhere) until it forms a soft dough and there are no flour pockets left and the dough isn't crumbly. It should be the texture of soft play dough.
- Step 4. Spread evenly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan.
Pro Tip: Use a ruler or guide to evenly space the chocolate kisses for a more neat & professional presentation.
- Step 5. Bake at 350 ℉ for 20-25 min, then let cool for 20-30 minutes before putting the chocolate kisses on.
- Step 6. Slice the bars into the amount of servings you would like. I do 4 rows of 6 to equal 24 servings, but you could do 5 rows of 6 to equal 30 slices, they're just a little smaller.
📌 Common Mistakes & Troubleshooting
- Overbaking
- Avoid dry bars by checking for doneness at the minimum baking time.
- Chocolate Melted
- The bars need to cool for at least 20-30 minutes to prevent the kisses from melting into puddles.
- Crumbly Texture
- If the dough is too dry, add a Tablespoon or two of milk to help the dough become the right texture, it should be soft like play dough.
❓Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, but natural peanut butter can alter the texture due to its oil separation. Just make sure it's well-stirred and keep in mind you may need to put less butter in the recipe.
Allow the bars to cool slightly before adding the kisses (20-30 minutes), or refrigerate the kisses beforehand to help them keep their shape.
Absolutely. Bake the bars a day in advance and store them in an airtight container until ready to serve.
