Equipment

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup peanut butter 195 g
  • ¾ cup brown sugar 165 g
  • ¾ cup white sugar 165 g
  • ¾ cup salted butter 170 g
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 10 g
  • ½ teaspoon salt 6 g
  • teaspoons baking soda 11 g
  • cups all purpose flour 340 g
  • 24 Hersheys Kisses

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350℉
In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, brown & white sugar, and softened salted butter. Mix with an electric mixer (either stand or handheld). Cream together for about 3 minutes on medium/high speed, until mixture is creamy and turns light in color.
  • Add in eggs, vanilla, and salt, and mix well, for about 1 minute on medium speed.
  • Add in the baking soda and flour last, until it forms a soft dough, 1-2 minutes. It should be the texture of soft play dough and not be crumbly. (add a Tablespoon or 2 of milk if needed).
  • Spread evenly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Bake at 350 ℉ for 20-25 minutes.
Set a timer to cool the bars for 20-30 minutes before putting the chocolate kisses on or they'll melt.
  • Place the kisses on the bars in even rows and slice the bars into the amount of servings you would like. I do 4 rows of 6 to equal 24 servings, but you could do 5 rows of 6 to equal 30 slices, they're just a little smaller.

Notes

Store at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.

Troubleshooting
  • Overbaking
    • Avoid dry bars by checking for doneness at the minimum baking time.
  • Chocolate Melted
    • The bars need to cool for at least 20-30 minutes to prevent the kisses from melting into puddles.
  • Crumbly Texture
    • If the dough is too dry, add a Tablespoon or two of milk to help the dough become the right texture, it should be soft like play dough.
