Frozen yogurt blueberry bites are super easy to make! They are the perfect snack. Nutritious, convenient, and so yummy all year round and can be made with fresh or frozen blueberries.
Frozen yogurt with blueberries are a great frozen snack any time of the year, especially in summer when it's hot! We love to make them with raspberries or strawberries too.

Some of the benefits of blueberries with yogurt are the fiber, protein, and probiotics from the yogurt. I love to use Greek yogurt for how thick and creamy it is, and the added protein is always a plus.

Why You'll Love This Recipe
- Taste: Cold with sweet yogurt, juicy blueberries and a little texture and crunch from the almonds and coconut.
- Ease: No cooking required! Just freezing the yogurt mixture, melting the chocolate, and drizzling it over the yogurt bites.
- Time: 3-4 hours to freeze the yogurt bites and 10 minutes to melt and drizzle the chocolate.
🛒 Key Ingredients

- Chocolate chips - I like dark chocolate or semisweet chocolate chips best.
- Yogurt - Greek yogurt works really well because it's thicker and easier to scoop than regular yogurt. I use plain greek yogurt (homemade in the instant pot) so I can control how sweet it is.
- Shredded coconut - or coconut chunks can be used, I prefer sweetened but unsweetened is also an option for less sugar. You can always leave it out if you don't like coconut!
- Sweetener - Honey or agave nectar are my favorite options for their mild flavors.
- Nuts - I prefer sliced almonds for the texture and taste but any nut will do!
- Optional: add 2 Tablespoons of your favorite vanilla protein powder for more protein!

✏️ Best Yogurt + Blueberry pairings
Greek vs Regular vs Plant Based
- Greek yogurt has a thicker texture (easier to scoop) has more protein, but plant based is a good dairy free option.
Plain vs Flavored Yogurt
- I use plain yogurt, flavored with honey as an added sweetener so I can control the amount of sweetener added. Flavored yogurt usually has added sugar, but is still a good option! Light vanilla greek yogurt is my favorite alternative to plain.
🧑🍳 Instructions

- Step 1. In a small mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, coconut, almonds, honey, vanilla, and blueberries in a bowl. Gently mix together so the blueberries aren't squished.

- Step 2. Use a 1.5 Tablespoon cookie scoop to scoop portions onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. The liner helps to remove them after they've been frozen. It's hard to get them off with no liner! Ask me how I know. Freeze for at least 4 hours until frozen through and no longer runny.
Top Tip: The smaller you scoop the bites, the quicker they freeze. They also freeze faster if you use frozen blueberries vs fresh.

- Step 3. Melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil together in a microwave safe bowl for 30 second increments and stir in between until the chocolate is smooth.

- Step 4. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the frozen yogurt bites and cover as much as possible. Freeze for another 10-15 minutes until the chocolate is hardened.
Top Tip: Chocolate can seize if it gets too hot or is microwaved for too long, so make sure you microwave it for only 20-30 seconds at a time and stir in between.

- Step 5. Optionally sprinkle with coconut or almond shavings before serving. Best stored and served frozen, we like to leave them out for 5 minutes or so to soften a little before eating. Best eaten quickly so they don't melt and become runny!
📌 Creative Recipe Ideas
- Make them into fun creamy frozen yogurt blueberry popcicles or yogurt bark with berries and seeds (add chia seeds or poppy seeds for more texture).
- Layer the ingredients into small parfaits. Yum!
- Arrange the ingredients to make a delicious breakfast yogurt bowl, no freezing required!

❓Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! These are best prepared 1 day or at least 4 hours ahead, and they last up to 3 months in the freezer. They are best stored frozen.
You can try adding a Tablespoon of coconut oil to it and stirring really well. Chocolate seizes when it's overheated, so heating it more won't really work unless it's done slowly and at a low heat.

My 9 year old saw this recipe and said "I could totally make that!" So, she did! I had to supervise with the melted chocolate, but she did the rest! And it was delicious! It may be a new favorite treat around here!
