Make the best 4 ingredients guacamole in just minutes! Fresh, creamy, and irresistibly simple-perfect for tacos, parties, or healthy snacking.
Disclaimer: this is NOT fancy guac. It is my ride at dawn, make it fast so I can inhale it guac. This guac is made for after school snacks and just give me the chips I had a bad day at work guac. It doesn't pretend to be something it's not, it just comes in and gets the job done.

The benefit of guacamole with 4 ingredients is that it's very accessible (no need to run to the store bc you forgot cilantro) and the avocado flavor absolutely shines. Put it on top of Green Chile Chicken Enchiladas, with chips or toast, or in a burrito with Homemade Tortillas and black beans (instant pot).

Why You'll Love This Recipe
- Taste: The garlic, salt, and lime are the shiny stars of this show.

- Time: 5 minutes. Or less if you're motivated. That's it!
📝 Ingredient Notes

- Seasonings - I picked the ones that pack the most punch. Salt and garlic. There are sooo many others you can add (pepper flakes, ground pepper, onion powder, etc.) but for easiness' sake, I chose these because they have the essential flavor needed for half decent guac.
- Avocados - you can technically use frozen or avocado spread ready made from the store. I prefer fresh avocado so the guacamole has some texture when mashed.
See the recipe card below for full information on ingredients and quantities.
✏️ Variations (also 4 Ingredients)
- Avocado + lime + salt + pico de gallo (pre-made or store bought)
- Avocado + lime + salt + minced garlic (or onion).
- Avocado + lime + salt + cilantro!
🧑🍳 Step-by Step Instructions

- Step 1. Slice and peel avocados and place in bowl. Mash to into desired texture. I like to leave some pieces so it's not super smooth. Chunky is the way to go!

- Step 2. Add in the salt and garlic.

- Step 3. Add lime juice! Start with a little and add more to taste.

- Step 4. Serve! Refrigerate for up to 3 days, make sure to cover with plastic wrap and press flat so it's touching guac with no air pockets.
You can try the base mixture of avocado + salt + lime and experiment with a different 4th ingredient like pico, cilantro, pepper, jalapeńo, pesto sauce, etc. Let me know in the comments which you prefer!
What to Eat with Easy Guac
- When minimal wins: with tortilla chips or veggies, on toast or with eggs.
- When to make it fancier: on tacos with beans and Cilantro Lime Brown Rice and Mexican grilled chicken , or in a layered dip.
📌 Troubleshooting
- If guac is bland: fix by adding a little more salt, garlic, or lime.
- Browning: best short-term fixes (press plastic wrap on surface, add extra lime).
