- 2 lb ground turkey
- 1 medium yellow onion, chopped (about 1¼ cups) 150 g
- 1 teaspoon salt 6g
- ½ teaspoon onion powder 2g
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder 2g
- ½ teaspoon ground pepper
- 2 Tablespoons brown sugar 27g
- 12 oz tomato paste (1 large can)
- ¼ cup ketchup 60 mL
- ¼ cup vinegar 60 mL
- 3 Tablespoons worcestershire sauce 30 mL
- 8 hamburger buns
- 8 slices of cheddar cheese (optional)
Heat a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the ground turkey and onions and cook until brown and crumbled, and onions are translucent.
Add all spices (salt, onion & garlic powder, and ground pepper), brown sugar, and all wet ingredients (tomato paste, ketchup, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce). Mix well. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve on hamburger buns with slice of cheese (optional). Enjoy!
Refrigerate for up to 5 days separate from hamburger buns in a freezer safe container.
Freeze for up to 3 months.
