This blackberry pear lemonade is sweet, tart, and perfectly refreshing. A fruity twist on classic lemonade made with fresh blackberries and juicy pears.
Two of my favorite fruits, in a drink, together forever. I've also made them into a Blackberry Pear Salad, which I love and adore. It's a lovely nonalcoholic summer drink to sip on.

Blackberry pear lemonade is on my favorites list because it's super easy but classy enough to serve for any occasion. Made with fresh lemon juice, a can of pears (no sugar added), and a fresh pear cut up in slices as garnish. 5-6 leaves of fresh crushed mint 🍃 and it leaves a little minty pop of flavor at the end of each sip!
The nice thing about this recipe is that you can add or subtract sugar to taste, making it more or less sweet. I like to add less water and more ice, so the flavor is a little stronger at the beginning of the pitcher.

Why You'll Love This Recipe
- Taste: The pear is the star of the show here! Nice and light with a little blackberry in there.
- Ease: No cooking or simple syrups required. You can always mash the pears or blend them with an immersion blender.
- Time: Less than 10 minutes!
📝 Ingredient Notes

- Pears - I prefer canned over fresh for this recipe. Here's why: ripe pears are hard to find and it usually takes them a few days to get soft enough for me to use them. Canned pears are consistently flavorful and with no added sugar, a great addition to the lemonade.
- Lemons - I will insist on fresh lemon juice here, bottled is not the same!

✏️ Substitutions & Variations
- Vanilla is my secret ingredient for lemonade, it's amazing! If you don't like it, you can leave it out.
- Switch out mint for basil for a fun twist!
- Raspberries or strawberries would be delicious in place of the blackberries!
- Use sparkling water for a fun fizzy drink!
🧑🍳 Instructions

- Step 1. Combine water and sugar in a large pitcher.

- Step 2. Add lemon juice and blended (pureéd) pears to pitcher.

- Step 3. Stir in vanilla extract.

- Step 4. Slice blackberries and stir into the lemonade.

- Step 5. Garnish with lemon slices, mint leaves and add ice to serve.
TIP: Wait to add ice until ready to serve the lemonade so it doesn't dilute the flavor!
📌 Troubleshooting
- Too tart: too much lemon- add more sweetener or pear puree.
- Cloudy mix: pulp not strained - fine mesh strain for a more clear lemonade.
❓Frequently Asked Questions
3-4 days refrigerated depending on how fresh the berries are.
Yes! It's easier to blend the pears with a blender but you could mash and strain them.
Options like stevia, monk fruit, or honey would likely work but haven't been tested for this recipe. If you try them let me know how you like it!
🍽️ Serving Ideas
Sugar the top edges of each glass for a little extra sweetness and elegance. Here's how:
- Dip the top of each glass in a very shallow dish of honey or agave nectar.
- Make sure it doesn't drip at all and only covers the edge of the glass. Then dip the top of the glass in a shallow dish of sugar.
- Carefully pour in the lemonade so the sugar isn't dissolved. So beautiful!
